Our Process
From the very first phone call to the final touches on your project, our process is designed to keep things clear, organized, and collaborative. We guide you step by step - starting with understanding your vision, refining plans and estimates, handling all permitting and planning details, and finally bringing your project to life. At every stage, we focus on communication, transparency, and making sure your goals and priorities stay at the center of the work.
1
Preliminary Phonecall
When we first connect with you, we’ll chat about your wishlist and overall project scope, highlight your priority areas, and get a sense of your ideal timeline and budget.
2
Onsite Consultation
At the onsite consultation, we’ll walk through your wish list in person, explore design options, clarify needs versus wants, and shape layout configurations based on your goals for the space. At this visit, we also take measurements, notes, and photos so we can prepare an accurate estimate.
3
Estimate Preparation & Review
During the estimate preparation and review phase, we research any permitting, zoning, or structural requirements relevant to your project. We then create a detailed estimate tailored to your scope, style, and functional needs, and develop layout concepts or renderings when helpful. Once everything is prepared, we’ll meet to review the proposed scope of work, layout ideas, and estimate together - discussing opportunities to refine or expand the plan based on your goals and priorities.
4
Estimate Revisions
During the estimate revisions phase, we address any permitting, zoning, or engineering requirements. For large-scale projects, we also meet with trade partners to finalize their individual scopes. Then, we update the estimate and plans based on new information and feedback from your estimate review appointment.
5
Engagement of Services
At this stage, the final scope of work is confirmed, the construction agreement is reviewed and signed, and a deposit is collected to officially engage our services.
6
Pre-Construction Planning
During pre-construction planning, we’ll finalize finish selections, submit permit applications for building department review, engage specialty trades, and place orders for any long-lead items. Once selections and permits are in place, the project start date will be confirmed.
7
Begin Construction
At the start of construction, we’ll provide the initial schedule, set up a group text thread for real-time updates, prepare the site with a lockbox, signage, permits, and initial materials, and then get to work - construction begins!
